EXHIBITION: VITAL SIGNS: Another World is Possible – Visit Science Gallery London at King’s College London (Guy’s Campus) for this exhibition which brings together artists, designers, and researchers to delve into the interconnections between the health of the natural world—from waterways to our atmosphere and ocean floors—and our own health and wellbeing. Dates: Open now until 17 May.

EVENT: Don’t Believe the Hyperlink – How does algorythmic recommendations deceptively play on our societal desires? Join Abandon Normal Devices at the School of Digital Arts for a screening of artist films exploring the influence of technology on society. Date: 6 December. 

CALL OUT: Collaborative Learning Initiative: Concept Touring  – delivered by Caravan (UK) and ILT Festival (Denmark), part of JB’s ITER programme, supports England and Denmark-based performing artists in experimenting with low-carbon, international touring models. Ten selected artists or companies will each receive £650 to explore innovative presentation methods and foster cross-cultural connections without extensive travel. The programme includes five online sessions and a culminating hybrid seminar at the ILT Festival in May 2025. Applications close: 9 December.

EVENT: London Youth Climate Hub Launch – Join, in London, to commemorate the launch of the Youth Climate Collaborative London Youth Climate Hub. This day will include fun games and stations, presentations and performances, exciting conversations, and of course, food and drink. Date: 13 December.

CALL OUT: Creative Landscape Explorations – Seedbed 2025, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Greenham Common’s return to public ownership, supports up to 10 artists in developing projects inspired by natural landscapes. The initiative invites exploration of heritage, environment, inclusion, and public space. At least three selected projects will receive additional commissions as part of the anniversary celebrations. Applications close: 16 December.

PRIZE: Sounds of Nature Prize – A £500 prize for UK-based musicians and singer-songwriters (aged 18–30) whose original tracks celebrate the human-nature connection by collaborating with the sounds of the natural world. The winner also receives a professional remix with access to The Listening Planet’s field recordings archive and an optional feature on NATURE’s streaming platforms. Applications close: 16 December.

FUNDRAISING: Music Prizes for the Planet – Our grant partners EarthPercent, the music industry’s climate foundation co-founded by Brian Eno, has pulled together a special prize draw full of limited edition, signed, high-value, and desirable prizes for music lovers across the world to have the chance to win. Date: running until 7 January.


SIGN UP: Our friends at Music Declares Emergency are celebrating their fifth birthday this month. Through their NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET campaign, they have helped reach over 550 million music fans with the support of over 4000 recording artists. To get involved and help the music sector to take urgent climate action, join their mailing list.

FUNDRAISING: Support the Vision: 2025 initiative in shaping the events industry’s 2030 climate strategy. This project aims to develop a comprehensive climate transition plan and secure government investment. Help raise £50k to match funds from Arts Council England, EarthPercent, Dixon Foundation, and Festival Republic.

SURVEY: International Travel Survey for Musicians — The Scottish Classical Sustainability Group is gathering insights from musicians about international touring. While crucial for cultural exchange, it’s also a major source of carbon emissions. We want to know how often you travel, what works, and what challenges you face. Open to musicians from all genres (classical, folk, jazz, pop, etc.).

LEARNING: BAFTA albert has launched a new academy for screen production – providing information on a range of training and courses depending on level of experience, role or objective. From interactive workshops and courses to specialist courses created in collaboration with leading industry bodies; ScreenSkills, the BFI and the Carbon Literacy Project.

SURVEY: Resilience: Adapting to Climate ChangeThis survey explores how festival and outdoor event organisers in the UK are impacted by extreme weather events. The study documents experiences beyond the usual adverse/severe weather plans and aims to develop a framework for assessing and addressing these challenges. The findings will contribute to a methodology that helps organisers prepare for and mitigate the effects of increasingly extreme weather. Open to festival and outdoor event organisers across the UK.
