Applications now open for CCL Scandinavia

Creative Climate Leadership (CCL) empowers artists and cultural professionals to take action on the climate and ecological crisis with impact, creativity, and resilience. It was designed to mobilise and connect a creative climate movement.

CCL was developed by the internationally recognised, London-based charity Julie’s Bicycle and is being presented in Sweden and Scandinavia through a partnership with artist and scientist Diego Galafassi, Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS), and support from the Swedish Postcode Foundation. This will be the second online course presented by the partnership.

Full info below. Application deadline: Monday 31st January 2022

What is Creative Climate Leadership?

During the program, participants will learn from and engage in conversation with invited guests such as global change scientists, organisational change and participatory experts. Together you will develop an up-to-date picture of creative climate action and develop the leadership skills and networks to lead artistic practice and institutions for transformative climate action.

CCL Scandinavia offers:

  • An online intensive program of leadership and peer-to-peer exchange for 24 talented and motivated participants living and working in Sweden and Scandinavia (adapted from our one-week residential programme)
  • A limited number of ‘seed funding’ grants are available to participants to support projects after the course.
  • An international network of CCL alumni
  • Participation at a Creative Climate Summit in Stockholm in 2022

Who is it for?

Creative Climate Leadership is for performing, visual, media, music, and other artists; cultural workers including producers, presenters, curators, administrators, funders, policy makers, and others who are ambitious and passionate about using their cultural and creative expertise in service to the ecological crisis and climate justice.

Applicants must be based in and/or working in Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Åland). We are looking to recruit roughly half of the participants from Sweden and half from the wider Scandinavia region.
