Claire is an environmental management expert with over 20 years experience. Since joining Julie’s Bicycle in 2012, she has been working with the creative sector to build and support understanding and action on environment and climate change. Claire leads on delivery of Julie’s Bicycle’s partnership with Arts Council England to inspire and support environmental action across the arts and culture sector. She is also involved in Julie’s Bicycle’s Policy and Cities programme, including as Lead Expert for C-Change – Arts and Culture Leading Climate Action in Cities, an EU-funded network led by Manchester.
Before this, Claire worked across a range of sectors and organisations – large and small, public and private, in the EU and the UK. In her various roles – from environmental manager at the Guardian to consultant for the European Commission on establishing its own eco-management system and project manager for an environmental NGO, her focus has always been on building understanding and bringing people together to understand and act on environment and climate.
Claire has a European Masters in Environmental Management and is an Associate Member of the UK Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). Originally Irish, she went on to live and work in Belgium, Germany and Austria, before coming to the UK.
