Join us for our next Creative Green panel discussion, considering community and social impact within sustainable practice.<\/p>\n

Creative Green Lead, Graciela Melitsko Thornton<\/strong> will chair a panel with 2 cultural practitioners working in museums, galleries and creative institutions to look at how they are designing alternative approaches to mitigating the climate crisis in their work and practices.<\/p>\n

We will hear about community participation, collaborating with artists and stakeholders through strategic design and sustainable processes, and we’ll take a brief look at recent programming.<\/p>\n

This event will be full of practical tips and guidance from our case studies, a chance to find inspiration from examples of Creative Climate Action and get connected to others working in the cultural sector (with a specific focus on museums and galleries). There will also be plenty of time for questions from the community.<\/p>\n

\"\"Zo\u00eb Louizos<\/h3>\n

Exhibitions Manager, Sustainability Coordinator<\/h3>\n

Zo\u00eb\u00a0has been working in the Exhibitions department of the V&A for over 12 years, over which time she has overseen the delivery of V&A temporary and touring exhibitions including,\u00a0Tudors, Stuarts and the Russian Tsars,\u00a0Horst: Photographer of Style, Mary Quant\u00a0and most recently\u00a0Epic Iran.\u00a0Zo\u00eb\u00a0has also been a\u00a0Sustainability Champion and\u00a0 during her time as the V&A’s Sustainability Co-ordinator, developed and implemented a range of green initiatives across the museum, particularly in relation to creative recycling and community outreach projects.<\/p>\n

Before joining the V&A, Zo\u00eb worked at the Museum of London, running the Exploring 20th c. London project, and at the British Museum in the Department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas. Prior to this she worked in community heritage and has been on the Steering Groups for the Museum of Homelessness and Museum of Ordinary People. Zo\u00eb has a degree in Environmental History and an MA in Cultural and Critical Studies.<\/p>\n

Museum Carbon Literacy Officer<\/h3>\n

Alison is Museum Carbon Literacy Officer as part of Roots and Branches<\/a>, a partnership project between Museum Development North West, The Carbon Literacy Project and Manchester Museum. Delivering the \u2018Branches\u2019, she enables the scale up and roll-out of Carbon Literacy across museums in England. Alison is also a facilitator and consultant working with organisations, networks and partnerships across arts and culture to enact climate and environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
