COMMISSION: Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership is offering a £1,000 commission for an artist to create and present work for their Mission Net Zero Gathering on 20 November 2024. The piece should explore courage, grief, joy, determination, and the power of collective action, and will be shared at the event and on social media. Deadline: 29 September.

RESIDENCY: Galway Arts Centre has an open call for three artist residencies as part of The Air We Share project. These residencies offer artists the opportunity to explore themes of air, climate, and environmental justice through their work. Deadline: 30 September.

EVENT: The third workshop of the Ways of Repair: Loss and Damage Public Programme will explore how to understand and implement repair, reparation, and remedy in the context of climate change loss and damage, examining the limitations of current policies and the role of artists and thinkers in advancing these efforts. Date: 4 October.

EVENT: Resurgence Events are hosting the Festival of Wellbeing – a day of thought-provoking talks from leading activists and thinkers with a mission to connect people with nature and each other. Date: 5 October.

EVENT: With For About 2024: When Words FailA one-day event exploring how we can come together when words are not enough. Through workshops, discussions, and performances, the gathering will explore alternative communication, expression, and how to hold space for difference in times of crisis. Date: 10 October.

EVENT: Part of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) Green, Reclaiming Space: Climate Justice in the Music IndustryA panel discussion featuring artists Lady Shaka and Shishani, and Chris Johnson (Shambala Festival), moderated by Syed Jazib Ali (CCL Benelux alum). This dialogue explores how the music industry can dismantle barriers and amplify voices for climate justice. Date: 18 October.

EVENT: ROARing Voices, in partnership with the Irish Cultural Centre, presents ‘No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs’: Migration, Refugees, and the Climate Crisis’a night of music, song, and a panel discussion. Expert speakers will explore migration as a potential solution for future generations, alongside performances of Irish and African music. Date: 25 October.

EVENT: Culture Shift Symposium: What Does Sustainable Art Look Like?An afternoon of talks and discussions for arts professionals, exploring the future of the arts in a changing environment. The symposium ties in with the launch of the Waste Age: What can design do? exhibition, focusing on circularity and sustainable art practices. Date: 25 October.


FUNDRAISING: Support the Vision: 2025 initiative in shaping the events industry’s 2030 climate strategy. This project aims to develop a comprehensive climate transition plan and secure government investment. Help raise £50k to match funds from Arts Council England, EarthPercent, Dixon Foundation, and Festival Republic.

SURVEY: International Travel Survey for Musicians — The Scottish Classical Sustainability Group is gathering insights from musicians about international touring. While crucial for cultural exchange, it’s also a major source of carbon emissions. We want to know how often you travel, what works, and what challenges you face. Open to musicians from all genres (classical, folk, jazz, pop, etc.).

LEARNING: BAFTA albert has launched a new academy for screen production – providing information on a range of training and courses depending on level of experience, role or objective. From interactive workshops and courses to specialist courses created in collaboration with leading industry bodies; ScreenSkills, the BFI and the Carbon Literacy Project.
