Beyond Production – Launching the Sustainable Screen Resource Hub

Cinema screen with full audience

JB are working in partnership with BFI to support the screen sector, particularly those working ‘beyond production’ – such as exhibitors, screen archives, education, skills, training and research organisations, sector support and promotion bodies. As part of this partnership we have created a Sustainable Screen Resource Hub. This free resource is full of guidance, top tips and examples, as well as inspiration for your creative climate action.

The Sustainable Screen Resource Hub covers the following key themes:

Scene-setting – Why change matters, and what we can achieve together

Getting started – First steps to getting involved, and what to prioritise

Good practice – Practical habits to implement, tailored to your organisation

Taking action – How to enact change in all areas of your workplace

Resources explore topics including energy use, travel & transport, digital & technology, nature & water, food & drink, money & finance, planet placement and materials & waste.

Find out what you can do to create, inform and inspire change, whether you are starting out in your journey or driving wider change.

Julie’s Bicycle is delivering the ‘Beyond Production’ strand of the BFI’s Sustainable Screen Programme and BAFTA albert is delivering the filmmaking production and development strand of the programme. By supporting environmental understanding and action, the programme aims to lay a solid foundation for better environmental practice and a greener screen sector in the longer term.

The BFI Sustainable Screen programme is for BFI National Lottery awardees and the wider screen sector. It runs from Autumn 2023 until March 2026.
