2017 Creative Green Award Winners

For the 2017 Creative Green Awards we were joined at Somerset House by 70 special guests and cultural leaders representing a wide range of the cultural and creative community, all gathered to hear the announcement of the first ever Creative Green Awards winners by Caroline Lucas.

Guests were welcomed to the ceremony by Diana Spiegelberg, Deputy Director of Somerset House who was followed by Curator, Karishma Rafferty to talk about the latest art installation in The Edmond J Safra Fountain Court, Western Flag (Spindletop, Texas 2017) by Irish artist John Gerrard.

Poet Selina Nwulu was introduced by JB CEO Alison Tickell, delivering a moving performance of a piece titled ‘Home is a Hostile Lover’ with the realtime video feed of Western Flag as her backdrop.

Awards were then presented by Caroline Lucas in nine categories with a special recognition category for Staff Champions leading on environmental action in their organisations.
