Rewatch: Climate Literacy Webinar

A seated crowd are watching a screen in a cinema. It looks like an old building with panelled walls and ceilings

As part of the BFI Sustainable Screen Programme funded by the National Lottery, Julie’s Bicycle delivered a Climate Literacy webinar for anyone working in the screen sector. It focused on those involved in activity ‘beyond production’ – from cinemas, festivals and screen archives, to education and skills development, sector support and promotion.

The aim of the webinar was to build understanding of the causes and consequences of the climate and nature crisis and to provide inspiration on what the screen sector can do to affect meaningful, positive change.

Topics covered include:
• An introduction to the BFI Sustainable Screen Programme and delivery partner Julie’s Bicycle
• An overview of where we are now, how we got here, and where we need to get to
• The role of the screen sector in the creative climate movement and how it can affect meaningful, positive change

Speakers:
Claire Buckley – BFI Sustainable Screen Programme Lead at Julie’s Bicycle
Ami Hankö – Climate Change and Sustainability Specialist at Julie’s Bicycle
Keir Powell-Lewis – Head of Environmental Sustainability at the BFI
