JB’s 2020 – a year in review

Nobody can quite believe the year we’ve all had. Join us as we reflect back on some of our achievements together this year, despite the challenges. Thank you all for your support in 2020 and we look forward to brighter and better things next year.

Climate Leadership and Training

We equip cultural professionals and artists with the knowledge and confidence to speak out and together on the climate issue, using their creativity to influence one another, audiences, and the wider movement. Here we spotlight our We Make Tomorrow summit, Creative Climate Leadership training and three-week Season for Ex-Change festival.

We advocate to, and for, culture to publicly inspire action on climate change and sustainability with reports, resources, commissioning and through regular events across the UK and beyond.

From the launch of the campaign for #JustGreenCulture that galvanised more than 850 signatories, and #MusicDeclares launching in Chile, it has been a busy, even if predominantly virtual year.

Sector Resources

From ways to address cultural digital impacts to how to avoid plastics and move towards a circular model of practice, providing guidance on carbon offsetting and options for travel and touring, planning sustainable events and next steps whether you’re starting your journey in climate literacy or planning your route towards a net zero future, we’ve created a wide range of audio-visual resources to inform and inspire.

Podcasts and media

We’ve featured in a range of podcasts and programmes exploring climate and culture throughout the year – with a small selection of interviews and media appearances profiled here.
